Ukraine

A CNN correspondent explains the despicable (and criminal) Russian ‘double tap.’ It seems the forcible (and also illegal) ‘resettlement’ of Ukrainians to Russia’s Far East has the blessing and logistical support of the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC).

According to Ukrainian sources, Russia launched false-flag operations in Transnistria, in addition to those reported in Kherson and Mykolaiv. According to many sources, the death toll of Russian generals is mounting. 

In propaganda news, state-sponsored media in Russia acknowledged the death of one Moskva warship sailor and the MIA status of another 27. However, Meduza estimated at least 37 dead and over 100 wounded out of 510 possible crew members. The Moscow Times compiled an informal list from social media. Unsurprisingly, many Russian soldiers in this conflict are from some of the nation’s poorest regions.

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin is hosting a meeting of the Ukraine Security Consultative Group at Ramstein Air Base today.

Biden nominated current US ambassador to Slovakia, Bridget Brink, for the top post in Ukraine. Chargé d’Affaires Kristina Kvien has held the post in an acting capacity since Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch’s abrupt removal in 2019.
