Nikki Haley offered a Valentine for all of you who prefer doomed presidential campaigns to flowers or jewelry.
The former South Carolina governor and U.S. UN Ambassador for President Donald J. Trump launched her presidential campaign today. She offered herself as a voice of a new generation. Only in Washington is a 51 year-old considered a fresh new face, but personally I am all for redefining the boundaries of what is young well into middle age.
Of course, her argument, like most of the reasons she offers for her candidacy may not work for her as intended. Because if voters really want younger, Ron DeSantis, Florida’s governor, is only 44. And if they really want a change from Trump, well, Haley’s years on his team and her defenses of him just reveal her to be part of the MAGA Swamp.
