Today, in the wake of the murders of two Americans who were among a group of four recently kidnapped in Mexico, Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and Representative Dan Crenshaw of Texas both suggested we prepare to go to war with Mexico.
It is hard to think of a more insane policy—unless, of course, it was the approach floated by their party’s leader Donald Trump during his presidency, that we consider firing missiles at “convoys” of would be immigrants heading across Mexico toward the U.S. border. Or maybe it was his repeated suggestion to his staff that we fire at those trying to cross our southern border.
